WTC Families For A Proper Burial.

WTCFFPB

Chaplain

Dear Friends,

As a Christian clergyperson,  it is my responsibility and calling to properly bury the dead. However because the Ashen Remains of the deceased WTC victims are being stored in the Fresh Kills Land Fill, (garbage dump of our day), I cannot fulfill my calling  and promise to God in burying the dead.

As a Christian clergyperson, it is my calling to care about the hurts of others. In that mission and ministry , please know if you are hurting because of 9/11/01, if your life is affected in any way ,by clicking on this website you have found compassion and understanding by those who care about the wellbeing of others.

As a Christian clergyperson, my concern is also  regarding the need for some closure and the grieving process surviving family members and friends of the deceased WTC victims.

You are invited to share your religious beliefs in the burial of the dead. We want to be inclusive of all faiths for the international Cemetery  and Burial Rite we are planning when the Ashen Remains are removed form the Fresh Kills Land Fill. (Garbage Dump).

A Scriptural Basis for a Proper Burial

When it was evening, there came  a rich man from Armathea, named Joseph,  a respected member of the council, a good and righteous man, who was also  himself  a disciple of Jesus and looking for the Kingdom of God.  He took courage and  went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.  Pilate wondered if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked whether he was already dead. And when he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the body to Joseph, ordering the body be given to him.  Then Joseph took the body down, ( from the cross in Golgotha which was the garbage dump outside Jerusalem at that time)  Nicodemus also,  who had first come to him by night,  came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pounds’ weight.

Joseph wrapped the body in  a clean linen shroud, with the spices,  as is the burial custom of the Jews. They laid the body of Jesus in Joseph’s own new tomb, which he had  hewn in the rock, where no had yet been laid. And they rolled a great stone  to the door of the tomb and departed.
